Verduzzo friulano

THE BUNCH

This variety has a small pyramid-shaped bunch, branched and reasonably compact.
The berries are small and  round, with a hard waxy skin which becomes yellow- amber in colour when fully ripe.
The pulp is succulent, tannic and juicy.

BRIEF HISTORY

It is a native grape, which means it was not imported and has always existed in the Friuli and eastern Veneto areas, and more specifically in the provinces of Treviso and Venice.
The adjective accompanying the name of the grape, Friulano, indicates the area of origin, although its production extends into the land around the Piave River.
