The evening of January 5th the great bonfire that represents the Panevin will be lit.
Tradition in the Veneto region holds that from early times, the local population lit fires in the countryside on Epiphany Eve to light up the night sky and aid the Wise Men in their travels towards the Holy Manger of the Christ Child. In reality, Panevin goes back even further to ancient days when the large fire symbolized the burning of poverty and its exorcism.
We remember with the images on Facebook the torch of tradition that gleamed high at the Moletto winery.
