The harmony of freshness and tenderness of this wine is amazing.
The New Year holidays are the triumph of sweetness. The perfect accompanying for it is Moletto Verduzzo Demi Sec. The 2013 harvest presented us with the golden grapes. The scene of September vineyards was incomparable with its strong fantastic golden yellow bunches. The name of the grapes used for production is Verduzzo Friulano, also called Verduzzo Ramandolo or “dorato” – “golden” – exactly because of the color which characterizes the grapes. The organoleptic characteristics are determined by the soil type where the vineyard is cultivated. Speaking of Moletto we have to do with plantations situated in Motta di Livenza and cultivated on the ground of sedimentary alluvial origins and of clayey limestone type. In ancient times this ground is remembered to be covered with forest Moletto and the river Livenza was often in flood and enriched the ground with its limestone. This extraordinary composition of Moletto’s lands makes the wines produced here so unique. The winery Moletto from the very beginning has decided to sparkle this Verduzzo. ‘The choice – explains the enologist Giovanni Stival – was made in fact for searching the uniqueness, on purpose to distinguish our product from the sweet sparkling wines produced of the more notable grapes. Verduzzo Demi Sec presents floral perfumes and strongly expressed fragrance of honey and honeycombs. Clean by taste thanks to the slightly tannic basis the wine is gracefully sweet and nobly fizzy. The honey character is picking out. That typical honey perfume which distinguishes the fully matured grapes reappears unchanged in the glass. Full bodied, dense, it has a really inviting yellow colour. Verduzzo Demi Sec is a Holiday wine, it pairs well with dry pastry and the cream pastry, panettone and pandoro, crispy desserts, spoon desserts, chocolate mousse.
Moreover – from the Verduzzo friulano grapes Torcolo borns. From best bunches of Verduzzo friulano grapes, left to shrivel until the end of the harvest, and then collected one by one, results this white wine, delicately and gently sweet, tasty, full and vigorous, lightly tannic. It’s a splendid accompanying for the pastry in general and perfect match with mature cheese.
The gold of Verduzzo Friulano bunches – autochthonous variety really wealth of the territory – fills the glasses for the toast of the Holidays.
